Intriguing suggestion from RTE came my way today. A nice bod in Fair City is looking for interested irish bands to send in their logo/band name to have made into T-shirts to be worn on the show. Bands can send in their own t-shirts, or better yet, send in a logo/album cover jpeg and RTE will have them made into a t-shirt, with the band website on the reverse. You’ll also need to email a disclaimer giving RTE permission to use your logo etc in the show.
A little internet cruising shows that the Le Galaxie boys have had their time in the Fair City sun (see pic below) and “leveraged it” for a “buy this t-shirt” post on facebook, and reportings of t-shirts from Howlin Dowlin and Noise Control are also in the mix.
If you want your band in the show email the jpeg, web address and a disclaimer note to eimer.nolan@rte.ie before the weekend is out.
Gotta love this – a filmaker captures the San Fran to Paris flight via 2,459 photographs – roughly one every 2 miles- including a trip through the aurora borealis. Pretty magic. Click through to his vimeo page for info on the camera, how he shot it etc
Thanks to Judi for passing on the clip link
It’s been a bit of a video blog week for me, unusually, but here’s one more. It’s a 10mins clip but well worth the watch for anyone interested in what motivates us in the workplace.
It comments on new business models, which for anyone aware of Google’s management style will be familiar with, but it also helps articulate, for me, why I enjoy working in the arts space, and why you get so many talented, passionate people working for relatively low salaries in this industry. The speaker (Dan Pink) has research to illustrate how money and bonuses are less likely to motivate employees in cognitive roles than values like autonomy, mastery and purpose.
Rather nicely the whole talk is animated “live” by an artist making it a whole lot more engaging to watch.
